While other retailers will just process your film, we take a much more detailed approach to make sure that your images turn out perfectly. We carefully inspect your film and color, contrast, and density adjust each frame to deliver high-quality images.
Most film developing orders are completed within 3-7 business days after they enter production. We are located in Brewery Art Complex. Occasionally production times run a bit longer, especially before or after holidays.
You will get your WeTransfer link approximately 3-5 business days after your order goes into production. Please note there are some exceptions. Drum Scan orders typically take 7 business days. Film shot in a non-standard format will not be scanned. This includes APS / Advantix, 110 film, and 126, some panoramic formats and sprocket hole rolls etc. When available scans will be supplimented with a contact sheet.
Damaged film (torn sprockets, overlapped frames, uneven frames) will not be scanned, but can be printed manually.
We only store the film/scans for 45 days. After that, we will dispose and delete the material periodically. Please arrange to pick up your physical assets and download your digital ones.
What sizes are your film scans?
Film scan sizes vary by film format. Small scans are between 2-3mp, medium scans between 6-9mp, and large scans between 13-19mp. Exact dimensions are listed below.

What size film scans should I get?
Small scans are perfect for texting to friends and family, sharing on social media, and for 4x6 prints.
Medium scans allow for a moderate size print up to 8” on the short end. You can also crop your image some while maintaining excellent image quality.
Large scans are perfect for prints up to 12" on the short end and allow additional flexibility when cropping your image.
What are your current turnaround times for film processing and scan delivery?
3-5 business days. Business day count starts the day after the film is received and checked in by the lab. We'll email you once your film is checked in. Large orders of 15+ rolls are subject to 1 extra day to process.
NORITSU SCANS
The Icon utilizes the newest series of Noritsu scanners, the HS-1800 series, to scan your film in either Low, Medium, or High resolution—and provide either 72 DPI JPG or 300 DPI TIFF files. The expanded image control pre-scan settings allow these scanners to be adjusted for color, contrast, and saturation that most closely interprets the film’s character and tonality, making Noritsu scans ideal for fim image editing, archiving, or producing machine prints directly. We adjust the color, contrast and density of each frame for optimal image quality. However, we can scan with no corrections upon request.
Noritsu Scan
Our standard mini-lab scan equals to around 20 MB when opened in an image editing program like PhotoShop. These scans come as .TIFs
20MB $18
Drum Scan
300MB $100
1 GIG $300
*35mm film can only be scanned to 300MB
For more information, please see our scan page
A couple of disclaimers: If you have a square format, the scans will default to the short dimension. The standard scan is 1024×1024, and the enhanced is 2048×2048. What we are trying to state is that, if you do not have a 2×3 aspect ratio original, your scan size will vary.
Our scans are 72 dpi. It sounds low, but it’s because it’s the pixel dimensions that matter, not the dpi by itself. If you get your scans and are still concerned, convert them to 300dpi in PhotoShop. Make sure you uncheck the “Resample Image” checkbox. You’ll see the image stays the same. For example, an image that is 5″ x 7″ at 300dpi is the same resolution as a photo that is 29″ x 21″ at 72dpi.
If you have film that requires the sprocket holes to be scanned or have panoramic images, please note there is an extra charge. Sprocket holes can only be scanned from the “Sprocket Rocket” camera
Enhanced or Super, we scan your film negatives or slides in one of 2 scan sizes:
- Enhanced scans are made for creating prints up to 11×14 inches, and have a file size of 12MB-18MB. These are ideal for printing small posters or quality photo brochures.
- Super scanning is our large output option. These professional resolution scans have a file size of 48.8MB-87MB, and are perfect for advertising, giant prints or large posters.
Scans Only (No Prints) Price
Enhanced Scans $2.50
Super Scans $6
